POEM FOR A TIME AS THIS

By Jeanne Kaye Michel

In Loving Memory of Emilia Verginia Valdez

A seed is planted, a flower blooms.

With tender petals so delicate,

And sweet, sweet

smells of it's gentleness linger

in the air long after

it's season has come and gone.

The memories of the smiles

It brought to my face.

The warmth,

I felt in my heart,

The tenderness of a touch.

This angel child came to this earth,

And brought to me a smile.

Staying for a season,

For such a short, short while.

With memories of babies breath,

I miss this tender love.

Oh, Lord above, please,

hold my child,

And tell her everyday,

How I'll work all the harder

To be with you some day.

To see my child once again,

To hold her in my arm's.

To say how much I've missed

Her precious angel charms.

The flower of my heart,

The angel of my soul.

Oh, my precious baby;

Must I let you go?
